OHO LAUNCHES NEW WEB SITE FOR THE ICA

OHO, one of New England’s most visionary and award-winning marketing agencies, has teamed with the ICA, one of Boston's most vibrant cultural institutions, to create the ICA’s new web site, www.icaboston.org. Recently launched in November, the web site compliments the ICA’s newly opened waterfront building, the first museum to open in Boston in nearly one hundred years.

While OHO often creates a client's web site from scratch, the ICA approached OHO with a design already in progress. OHO stepped in and made certain the site structure would meet the needs of the ICA and its patrons, while still conveying the contemporary focus of the museum. They worked to make the site both functional and visually stimulating. The web site provides access to information on the visual experiences of the ICA- information that needs regular updates by ICA staff. By customizing their signature content management system, OHO was able to ensure the site will be easy for ICA staff to maintain. While the final underlying structure is fairly complex, OHO made that complexity unnoticeable to users- the web site is fun, bright, and easy to navigate. And its cutting-edge look and modern feel certainly match that of the new ICA building.

In a clever convergence of the web site and building site, the information from the web site appears on an array of television sets displayed in the lobby of the new ICA building. For those who want to brush up on what the museum has to offer, the new web site is clearly the place to go.

OHO created online exhibits that offer glimpses of shows currently in the museum. There is a searchable calendar that links to all of the site's information- use the calendar to look up what events are happening in any given month and a list of options will appear. The online membership and donations systems built specifically for the site by OHO make it simple to become an ICA member or donate money. Or just check out the moving headlines, bright colors, and crisp, clean layout. Looking around the web site will whet your appetite for a visit to the ICA.
